About Me
For as long as I can remember I have loved being in the kitchen. It has always been a place for me to be my creative self and relax. In my early twenties, besieged by chronic lyme disease, I was sent on a journey of eating gluten-free and dairy free. Strangely, being sick has inspired my creativity and passion. I spend less time eating out and more time in my kitchen. I have become curious in ways in which I can make gluten-free and dairy-free baked goods unrecognizable. Maybe you have that one stubborn family member that refuses to eat something gluten-free because “it doesn’t taste the same”. I promise you that if you didn’t know these pastries were gluten and dairy-free you wouldn’t believe it and could trick that stubborn family member too.
In August of 2023, I decided to launch my idea Dessert Fairy. Dessert Fairy was a bi- monthly gluten and dairy free delivery or pickup service for those who struggle to find a sweet treat with these dietary restrictions! In January of 2024, I started doing deliveries twice a month! I decided to start applying for summer farmers markets and spent my summer at the Winooski Farmers Market. Being at markets has been so incredibly rewarding despite all the hard work. Starting this business three months out of college wasn’t “my plan” but I feel so grateful for the way life has unfolded in this way.
The idea for Talyas Treat’s was sparked not only because of my love for food but especially for making sweet treats for others. I know that not everyone loves to bake as much as me and these treats are so much harder to find. I’m hoping I can remind folks that life is always worth celebrating! No birthdays or special events are necessary! Let’s celebrate the mundane baby!
